    This posting site is maintained by the national AFL-CIO Organizing Hub as a service to affiliated unions and to individual prospects who are interested in working as union organizers and researchers in strategic campaigns. There are ongoing union campaign staff openings, mostly at affiliated unions around the country, and occasionally at the national AFL-CIO in Washington, DC. Our resume database is consulted regularly by union hiring managers when filling researcher and organizer vacancies. Posting your resume here is an excellent way to get your application materials in front of union hiring managers nationwide, whether you’re a veteran campaigner or new to the labor movement.     Who should post a resume?

    We’re looking for new and seasoned organizers, researchers and campaigners: people with experience in union campaigns, community organizing, or political campaigns; college graduates, graduate students, or professionals with skills in areas such as financial analysis and corporate research; and especially people with a passion for social and economic justice.

    How do I add my resume to the researcher/campaigner database?

    To add your resume, simply click on the link above or below and fill out the resume posting form. You will be prompted to upload a resume and cover letter, so you should have those ready.

    What if I have geographic preferences or limitations?

    When filling out the resume posting form, you will be provided with the opportunity to specify your geographic preferences.

    How will I know if a union is interested in me?

    If a union is interested in pursuing your application, you will be contacted directly by the individuals who are hiring for specific positions.

    What do union campaign researcher jobs pay?

    Qualifications, pay, benefits, and job duties for campaign positions vary by union and type of job, so you will need to discuss specific job openings with a union staff person if you are contacted for an interview.

    Will posting my resume here result in an interview or job offer?

    It might, but posting your materials by no means guarantees that you will be interviewed or offered a position. What posting here does do is to increase the chances of your resume being seen by affiliated unions when they are hiring.

    Is posting my resume here the same as applying for specific positions at the AFL-CIO or at affiliated unions?

    No, posting your materials here is not the same as applying for specific positions at the AFL-CIO or at affiliated unions. You are free to apply for specific jobs at the AFL-CIO and/or at affiliated unions, in addition to posting your materials at this site.

    What if I'm currently employed by an affiliated union?

    Hiring managers at all AFL-CIO affiliates have access to resumes posted here. If you are currently employed at an affiliated union, you should post here only if you've notified your employer that you're looking.

    What if I want to update my resume or posting form?

    If the changes are minor, you may wish to wait and see if you are contacted by a union hiring manager, at which time you can provide an updated resume. If the changes are significant, you should do an entirely new posting and then your prior posting will be deleted.

    What if I want to remove my records from the database?

    Contact the database administrator at jobsearch@aflcio.org. Please be sure to notify us If you are hired by a union so we can remove your materials and avoid your being contacted by other unions.

    What happens if I never get contacted?

    Your records will be removed from the resume database as part of periodic purges of older records. You will be notified when this occurs, and you can post an updated resume at that time, if you wish.
